Erhard Frenzl Memorial Paddle and Hike
Time & Location
About the Event
As a park volunteer and skills instructor, Erhard Frenzl touched the heart of everyone he met. He was an enthusiastic teacher and outdoors person whose love of Frontenac Provincial Park was contagious. He was remarkably kind and generous with his knowledge about the park and loved to teach its visitors about the woods and water around them. Erhard served on the FoF board of directors for many years.
Tragically he died in 2013 while paddling on Lake Superior.
Each year, the Friends of Frontenac honour his memory and celebrate his life over a weekend in June. Participants are invited to paddle Big Salmon Lake and hike the nearby trails in his memory. A limited number of camping spaces are available at Campsite #4 for the weekend. (Camping arrangements must be made through the park office.)
